Located on 500 acres at the headwaters of the Florida Everglades, the JW Marriott Grande Lakes underwent a significant and technically demanding renovation, requiring careful execution and adaptive strategies. The project faced numerous unforeseen site challenges, leading to frequent adjustments where design and architectural specifications were modified and customized in real time.
Key elements of the renovation included a new, full kitchen for Knife Burger, a complex lobby and bar redesign with a new deck over the existing waterfall, and the stunning installation of 16-foot gothic windows in the lobby. The Allied Team built an intricate barricade with graphic visuals and a live wall to separate construction zones from public space areas, keeping hotel operations running smoothly with minimal disturbance.
During this renovation, our team showcased exceptional problem-solving skills as they navigated a “no construction clause” during sold-out events and managed a tight construction schedule to ensure the hotel met its crucial reopening deadline. The renovation was completed on time and to the highest standards through meticulous planning and close collaboration with ownership.
As a result, the JW Marriott Grande Lakes reopened as a premier destination, reflecting the Allied Team’s expertise in handling complex site conditions, strict timelines, and unique operational challenges.
